Gap Eyelet Ballet Flats: I am anxiously waiting for Spring to arrive so that I can wear a pair of flats without freezing my toes. We’ve had spurts of good weather in Philly but now it’s time for Spring to be here and stay. This spring/summer I promise myself to buy more flats (that shouldn’t be too difficult) and not wear them into the ground (that’s the hard part). My hunt for flats begins with the Eyelet Ballet Flat by Gap. Made of cotton, they are easy enough to keep clean. The color is unassuming and will match virtually any outfit, while a ruffled detail adds a touch of femininity. Price $40.
Lauren by Ralph Lauren Marlene Wedge: Sometimes wedges can seem so casual that they may not always be appropriate for the office. I love wedges and find them incredibly comfortable to walk in, especially in a pump. Wedge slides never felt secure on my feet no matter how many times I would wear them. So, I was incredibly happy to come across the Marlene Wedge. With it's glossy navy blue patent leather and simple brass detailing, it has sophistication and a polished look to top off any outfit. Also available in black and champagne. Price: $109.
Giuseppe Zanotti Knotted Pump: I am pretty excited over all the candy colored accessories that are out right now – but only in moderation. I can’t really see myself wearing an entire Laffy Taffy inspired outfit. It looks great in videos and to those who can pull the look off, more power to you! These Giuseppe Zanotti Knotted pumps would be perfect for anyone who either wants a splash of color or can carry a full colorful 80’s inspired outfit. The knotted front and slightly scalloped sides are just enough detail to make these sexy pumps so appealing. Heel measurements: 3 1/5”. Also available in navy and black satin. Price: $595.
Dollhouse Lizette Slingbacks: At such a great price, these pointy slingbacks are to good to pass up. They would be great for work as they maintain a sense of style yet are still wearable for everyday. I love the cut outs as they add a slight edge without going overboard. These Dollhouse Slingbacks are so classic that they would look great with the most conservative to the most trendiest of outfits. Heel measurements: 3 3/4". Also available in black. Price: $30.
Fendi Peep-Toe Platform Pumps: I'm pretty excited about platforms making its way back into our hearts. Of course, not all platforms are worth bringing back, but it does add some much needed fun and something unexpected to fashion. These Fendi's Platform heels are unusually sexy. You can't go wrong with a super high skinny heel - although they may not be the most comfortable - they serve its purpose. Price: $615.
Sigerson Morrison Pump: Yes, Valentine’s Day is over. And stores have already made way for the next money making holiday, which by the way should have nothing to do with spending any money, however, these candy red Sigerson Morrison pumps are so deliciously inviting that you can’t pass on them. Not only do these pointy heels have a great heel height and they’re red, but luckily the butterfly bow doesn’t take away from its sexy factor, it only increases it. Heel measurement: 4”. Price: $425.
Hollywould Orlene Sandal: Bold and in your face sexy - there is nothing passive or understated about these sandals. From it's vibrant green color to it's golden buckle and trim, you have yourself a pair of eye catching and always fashionable heels. Pair them with a spring dress, jeans & fitted t-shirt, or be a little daring and pair them with a monochromatic work suit for a touch of color. In my humble opinion, green is one color that isn't worn nearly enough. Heel measurements: 3 1/2". Price: $495.
Anthropologie Dress Shirt Heels: An ultra feminine shoe with a touch of masculine flair making it the perfect pump to show you mean business at the office. The orange leather is unexpected and fashion forward yet subdued and appropriate for even your more conservative work settings while being complimentary to your outfits for all the seasons. A shoe that will last for use and never losing its fashion sense. Heel measurements: 3". Price: $200.
Patent Leather Mary Janes: J Crew does an exceptional job at adding a modern and chic feel to classic pieces. A white button down shirt, a pair of khakis, perfect fitting black pants - you name it, they have infused their special touch with items that women can't live without to create modern day classics. My latest obsession is their Patent Leather Mary Janes. Available in black and a bold lime green, red appears to capture the balance between being classic, easy to pair with and being distinguished and noticeable. One of the few shoes that you'll buy and actually wear forever. Heel measurements: 3 3/4. Price: $198.
L'autre Chose Fold Over Boot:The Peter Pan trend is here to stay and I love it - at least when it comes to boots. I don't know how well Peter Pan's style could translate into other areas of fashion and I don't want to know - I'm happy with boots. L'autre Chose has created your ultimate go-to boot that can be worn throughout the year. The cognac color is gorgeous and would look beautiful against a pair of dark jeans or even paired with a flirty summer dress and opaque tights. Although a bit pricey, you'll wear these boots all the time that it will be worth it. Heel measurements: 4". Price: $595.
Dolce Vita Allure Pumps: Can it get any more exotic and perhaps outrageous that these snake skin pumps? I'm sure it can, but for right now, these are about wild as I can get. With a mix of grey and off white and gold interior, these are definite show stoppers. You could just wear jeans and a t-shirt with your snake skin pumps and still look unbelievable sexy. Heel measurement: 4". Price: $125.
Sugar Pocket Climber Boot: A combat boot with an edge, Sugar’s Climber Boot has potential. However, my eyes keep focusing on how long and bare the vamp is, knowing that my feet will look just as long and bulky. Ugh! I love the color because it is neutral enough color to match almost anything while still adding a touch of color. The zippered and snap side pocket is unexpected and quirky. If it wasn’t made out of cotton, this would be a fun shoe to wear for winter. Also available in a green camouflage. Price: $42.
Luichiny Annabel Sweater Boot: Try a trendy and stylish alternative to the typical tall boot with Luiciny's Sweater Boot. The Annabel is unexpectedly funky yet nicely balanced with the soft and neutral hues of brown, making it wearable compared to other uniquely styled shoes. The sweater boot is a fun trend to experiment with and at this price, you’ve got nothing to lose. Heel measurement: 3 ¾”. Seen here in tabacco, it is also available in coffee. Price: $65.
Gap Buckle Wellies: My recent obsession with rain boots is growing intensely and I don't think it will stop anytime soon. Not only have I been searching for myself, but also my little one. And with all the rain that we in Philly have been experiencing, now is a great time to buy a pair. These Gap Buckle Wellies are perfect for keeping your toes dry while adding a burst of colorful sunshine to that dreary rainy day. Price: $40.
Charles David Status Clog: The summer is long gone but I still crave and can't help but to peruse through the web for hot summer deals. Now is a great time to start preparing for next summer because prices are awesome. Punchy orange leather and rivets adorning this clog by Charles David add sexiness and unexpected funk. If you are feeling adventurous and can't wait for next summer, I'd be curious to see what they look like with with knee length socks and a skirt. Does that sound crazy? Heel measurement: 4". Also available in black and green. Price: $69.
Giuseppe Zanotti Ankle Boot:Sexy does not even begin to describe these ankle boots by Giuseppe Zanotti. These are Pam Grier/James Bond Girl bad ass boots. With a wooden platform wedge, you don't walk too far in these - just from home, to the car, then to the bar and sip your rum and coke while all the girls gawk at your boots. Heel measurements: 5 1/2". Price: $795.
Jean-Michel Cazabat Sonia Pumps: This season, metallics seem to be the next big thing. But wasn't it the big thing last year too? Ahh, fashion is so cyclical. I love it. I can't say that metallics are my thing, but every outfit deserves a little glimmer and shimmer. The Sonia Pumps by Jean-Michel Cazabat has enough pizzazz to make your whole out shine without making you feel like a strobe light. The classic design – rounded square toe and rectangular heel – beautifully balances the boldness of these platinum leather pumps. Heel measurement: 3 1/2".
Tory Burch Quinn Flat: More shoes that you may not want to wear in the Fall, but you could potentially pull them off. Given the increasingly cold weather, flats are not too practical, but you could always wear tights. Personally I hate wearing tights with flats. I feel like tights make my legs look like twigs and I am so self conscious about my legs that I would rather they look thin and long rather then thin and short. Enough of my babble. Tory’s Quilted Ballerina Flats are as classic and sophisticated as the Channel Quilted Bag - a bit pricey but they last a lifetime. Price: $225.More Info
Swear Nancy Heels: I am not sure how wearable these would be in the Fall given its light blue color and cotton canvas material, but they are so cute. I would totally buy them now and search through my closet to see how I could pull them off for the Fall. And if that failed, just save them for the Spring. One can never prepare enough. Price: $60.
Lucille Pumps: John Fluevog makes funky shoes. Fluevog and his design team create shoes that are uber-cool all on its own and whatever outfit you pair it with will only make the shoes look better. Compared to his other shoes, the Lucille is tame in its impact but still noticeable. These are the pumps that you could still look fashionable in while being comfortable. The funnel heel will give you just enough height without placing pressure on the balls of your feet. This could very well become my everyday work shoes. Price: $182.
Dollhouse Luster Pumps: These highly embellished sequined heels are a steal for the price. It's pointy toe, high heels and the beige and brown contrast make these shoes look more expensive than they really are. You could easily turn the typical jean and fitted shirt outfit into something a little more refined with these Dollhouse Luster Pumps, a sleek clutch and sparkling jewelry. Viola! Also available in black - which could make for a dazzling, formal, yet inexpensive pair of heels. Heels measurement: 4". Price: $30.
Valentino Patent Sweetheart Pumps: A bit Leprechaun-ish and a bit 80's, Valentino's vibrant green pumps are show stoppers. It's scallop cut out, super skinny stilleto heels, and shiny green patent leather make them sexy and trendy. You could wear with a sexy black or charcoal dress to make your Sweetheart Pumps have more of an impact or pair with an extra colorful outfit for a more Betsey Johnson inspired look. Either way, everyone will be looking at your shoes. Also available in red patent leather. Price: $525.
Naughty Monkey Hilary Pump: I don't even know if I like these shoes or not but the name alone made me stop and take notice. You have to admit that Naughty Monkey is a pretty amusing name for a shoe line. It kinda sounds like they should have a line of something else. Or maybe because it is 4 am as I write this and anything would seem pretty funny right now. Anyway, I love the paisley/floral print, sexy stiletto heel and pointy toe but part of me feels like there is a slight mismatch in these shoes with the overall pattern and the green/blue calf hair accents. What do you guys think? Price: $75.
Anthropologie Keepsake Boots: After a while, searching for tall brown boots can result in a lackluster journey. Differentiate yourself and choose a boot that has a touch of flair and makes a statement. Getting dressed should be fun and expressive, not a chore. Anthropologie's Keepsake Boots will do just that for you. The cute bow tie adds a girly feel and an unexpected touch to an otherwise typical brown boot. Let these Keepsake Boots inspire you to enjoy and be adventurous with your clothing. Heel measurement: 3 1/2". Price: $288.
Western Chief Stripes Rain Boots: With the weather seeming to have no rhyme or reason lately - at least here in Philly - who knows if there is a need for rain boots right now. But these Western Chief Stripe Boots are too adorable to pass up. The colors are bright and delightful without feeling as though you are wearing shoes for kids. It features traction on the sole to prevent the inevitable slips and falls that we all encounter in the rain and adjustable straps for a personalized fit. Price: $50.
Antik Denim Leif Platform: With a subtle touch of vampiness but still tasteful and stylish, the Antik Denim Leif Platform is sharp and sexy. Given it's 4 1/2" heels, these shoes are not made for walking, but for sitting and perhaps some standing while others compliment your gorgeous shoes. The patent leather helps to make the color stand out even more while the crinkled bow adds a playful and girly appeal. Also available in black and red patent leather. Price: $279.
Vince Camuto Women's Yen Bootie:
Chinese Laundry Wesley Sandals: Inexpensive yet stylish sandals that you could literally wear into the ground and not feel any guilty. These sexy bronze metallic sandals by Chinese Laundry have an understated feel yet the shimmer adds some extra fun. Chinese Laundry is awesome. After searching months for shoes for my wedding, I found shoes by Chinese Laundry and I have been hooked ever since. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a pair of white shoes that I knew I would never wear again. It's the brand I go to when I want shoes that are affordable and chic. Price: $20.
Stella McCartney Pumps: I've been addicted to navy blue pumps this summer and unfortunately, my current pair require a much needed rest. I've broken them in completely to the point that I can walk about 30 NYC blocks comfortably. Ok, well, maybe not totally comfortably but enough. Anyway, I came across Stella McCartney Piped Pumps and these beauties will soon be my new blue shoes. The piping is subtle yet in combination with its pointy toe and glossy finish, they make an impact. Heel measurment: 4". Price: $595.
Tashkent J Cole Ankle Boots: One of the few unique and outrageously designed shoes that I would actually wear, Tashkent's J Cole Ankle Boots are pretty cool looking. The color is simple, while the cut outs and tie in the back add just enough punch without becoming obnoxious. These would look awesome with skinny pants, shorts and skirts. Seen here in a light blue canvas, it is also available in creme. Wedge heel measures at 3 1/4". Price: $184.
Marc Jacobs Pumps: OMG these shoes are so beautiful! I really love shoes by Marc Jacobs. He never lets me down. Fashionable, unique and sexy and these are no exception. The contrasting color combination of beige and red play off one another nicely while the patent leather shine adds a flirtatious yet sophisticated touch. Adding to its vintage feel are the cone shaped stacked heels. So gorgeous! Heel measurements: 3 ¾”. Available in limited sizes so buy soon! Sale Price: $213.
Tamara Henriques Owl Birdy Boots: Now these are rain boots! For me, the worst thing about being in the rain, besides being in the rain, are cold wet feet. UGH!! Luckily for me, and of course others who hate cold wet feet, the fully lined Tamara Henriques Owly Bird Boots will keep those toesies warm and with its adorable pink & brown owl pattern you can maintain your playful fashion sense. The traction sole prevents any embarrassing falls when trekking through the rain. Measure 11” in height. Price: $108.
Dolce Vita Patent Flat: I would bet a million dollars that every woman out there loves a pair of fashionable flats – but maybe not necessarily over a pair of sexy Jimmy Choos – but they still love them. Style and comfort is priceless. The striped patent flats by Dolce Vita will be a welcomed addition to the fall wardrobe. Wear with tights and a mini skirt, jeans, dress, even pants – they are versatile. And the fact that they have a rounded toe (comfy toes!) and padded insole (more comfort!) doesn’t hurt either. Price: $85.
Chie Mihara Woven Sandals: These are not the most exciting pairs of shoes that I have come across. The instant picture of what I would wear when I see something I love doesn’t appear in my mind either. So you may ask yourself, why are they being featured? Well, they would be good work shoes. Being that I work in an office, I have to keep it pretty conservative and on the straight and narrow so I need to find items that are still fashionable without being loud and too attention seeking. I’ve got the evenings and weekends for my more adventurous side. Chie Mihara Woven Sandals are what I need for work. They are comfortable, versatile for pants or skirts, and with a 3” heel they give me just enough height. It stinks that I haven't grown since the 6th grade! Price: $252.
Tamara Henriques Flats: Quirky, fun and slightly outrageous, these ballerina flats are adorable. Substitute the tired old flip flops with polka dot fun and add a splash of color to the everyday jeans and t-shirt outfit. Apparently they are made for the rain, but I wouldn't take the chance in a heavy storm - definitely use the rain boots instead. Available in a wide assortment of patterns to appeal to everyone's sense of style. Price: $88.
Oh Deer! Praline Pump: Some could say that these taupe patent leather pumps are a bit too simple and not so eye catching as they should be, and I could agree with that, but there is something about them that I like. Any pair of round toe shoes instantly has a sophisticated yet girly appeal – which I love. I’m not quite sure what outfit they would look best with though. Maybe the Oh Deer! Pumps would work with a bold and slightly outrageous outfit since they are so simple? Or maybe a J.Crew/Banana Republic–ish outfit with the fitted white button down and khaki pencil skirt? I don’t know – but I want these shoes! Heel measurement: 3 ¾”. Price: $104.
Elie Tahari Vivian Ballerina Flats: Spider-man be aware, Elie Tahari is taking the webbed look and feminizing it for us fashion savvy women. Ok, so maybe Spiderman 3 was not origin of inspiration, but it sure does feel that way. This is not to say that I don’t think these are spectacular – because I do. The contrasting colors and embroider makes this shoe pop and gives it depth. The flat heel and rounded toe provides your feet with some comfort and panache. Great for summer and can last through the fall. Price: $225.
Carmen Ho Glitter Python Pump: Even though I’ve got my irrational fear of my toes looking as though they are
Manolo Blahnik Hair Calf Pump: The extent of my camouflage print accessories is non-existent and I don’t really have a strong urge to add any to my wardrobe unless of course something extraordinary comes along. I would like to say that Blahnik’s Camouflage Print Pumps is that extraordinary accessory and has changed my mind but unfortunately no. Although they don’t scream out to me, I would certainly give them a try if they were given to me as a gift. You can’t say no to Manolo’s! I’m not completely sure what I would wear them with but in the least, I could wear some great fitting jeans and a flirty top and be set. Heel measures at 4”. Price: $615.
Soho Lab Lealea Sandals: Initially I would not think that there are many opportunities to wear yellow shoes. It is certainly not the first color that comes to my mind when looking for new shoes. I have been making more of an effort to add more color to my wardrobe in any way I can but I fear resembling a clown and so I’m super cautious. But Soho Lab’s Lealea Sandals are pretty cool looking. They provide height and some comfort, while having a balanced look for both casual and dressier occasions. The cork wedge slingbacks have a padded footbed and ruched detailing on the vamp. Heal measurements: 3 ¾”. Price: $60.
Kors Dubois Striped Heel: Although I love the look of peep toe pumps, I still get a bit leery of them because I fear my toes getting scrunched up in an effort to fit through that little hole. I find when I walk, my toes seem to push themselves as if they are trying to escape. It drives me crazy! Does anyone else have this strange phobia? Putting that irrational fear aside, the KORS Dubois Heels are adorable. It features a cork platform – which I swear feels more comfortable to walk in – or perhaps it is my mind playing tricks on me? The cone shaped stiletto heel adds a subtle yet unique touch without taking away from the overall clean look. Price: $137.
Button Peeptoe Slingback: Amazingly comfortable and stylish - that is the theme for this summer. I came across the Button Peeptoe Slingback at Urban Outfitters and was instantly excited. These are my go-to shoes and the flip flops are going in the trash! You could wear these with shorts, skirts and dresses all the while feeling comfortable yet fashionable. They come in multiple colors - red, green and yellow - so you could match them to whatever outfit you are wearing. Price: $20.
Vans Classic Slip-On: I can't say that I am much a fan of Vans, although not to knock it, it looks great on other people. But being that I have this fear of my feet looking huge, the look of the Vans Classic would do nothing to ease my fears. But not to long ago, a friend bought an all white pair and they looked so good on her. And being that we are the same size, I figure I would face my fears and branch out beyond the usual feminine flats. Personally I liked the Checkerboard Classic Slip-On in pink. But of course you cannot beat a pair of all white Vans for summer. So fresh, so clean. Price: $40.
Steve Madden Majic Wedges: My love for espadrilles is undying. They are super comfortable and give you some height – what could be better? You could literally walk around in them all day and your feet will not kill you, trust me I have been there. The Majic Wedge by Steve Madden are super cute and flirty. The colorful polka dot pattern gives you a splash of color without being obnoxious and loud. Heel measures at 3” and has a ½” platform. Price: $70.
